    UWSP alum performs in a recital at UW-Stevens Point

    Alumna clarinetist Cynthia Krenzel Doggett will perform in a guest recital assisted by her husband, Thomas Krenzel Doggett on saxophone, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Monday, March 12.

    The performance will be held in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public free of charge.

    The program will include "Halfmoon at Checkerboard Mesa" by Phillip Bimstein, "Mad Rush to the End" by Charles Savage, Amy Dunker’s "Remembering Eric Dolphy," "The Ox and the Lark" by Nikola Resanovic, "Hommage a Manuel de Falla" by Bela Kovacs and "Improvisation" for saxophone, flute and electronics" by Thomas Krenzel Doggett.

    Cynthia will also be assisted on clarinet by alumnae Lonette Anderson Gregersen and Jenni Nicewander Yang, and Andrea Splittberger-Rosen, professor of music.

    Cynthia Krenzel Doggett, a ’93 UWSP graduate with a degree in music, is an assistant professor of music at Central College in Pella, Iowa, and teaches applied clarinet and saxophone. She is collaborating with her husband on works for clarinet and saxophone for the duet "KrenzelDoggett" in hopes to increase the repertoire for clarinet and saxophone.

    Thomas is also a member of the music faculty at Central College, teaching improvisation, flute and saxophone. He also works at the Guitar Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
